Our Song

Growing up in a musical family you come to learn there are things that are "different" about your family than other families. Spontaneously breaking into song isn't something seen only in musicals, in fact it's a regular occurrence, one we take great joy in I might add. Four part harmony isn't surprising, it's expected. Movies like "The Sound of Music" and "That Thing You Do" are part of our video library. Dinner table prayers are more often sung than spoken. Take my brother for example. He got kicked out of his VBS class when he was little because he sang the prayer before snack time. He wasn't being a trouble maker (or so he says!) just a music maker. We just do things a little differently than other folks. Some might call it weird. I call it a privilege.

I've started this blog to keep in touch with family and friends who aren't close enough to see the everyday happenings in our life. Think of this little space on the web as a song of our life. Come back often to see what we're singing next, what we're adding to our song. And if you feel like it, maybe you'll sing along.

  2. Wow, she's amazingly in tune! Of course, would I expect anything less being that she's YOUR daughter?? ;) I'm telling you, she's probably the cutest/prettiest kid I've ever seen, and I've seen a lot of kids. Give her kisses for me!
