Last week I had the opportunity to attend the National Worship Leader Conference in Kansas City. It was a great week of worship and time away from mommy responsibilities. :-) Since we've moved back to Kansas I haven't been leading worship each Sunday and it's been a nice break, but it was so good to spend time with other worship leaders and be reminded of the great responsibility God has given us as worship leaders. I came away from the week feeling renewed and refreshed.
One of the fun moments of the week was attending one of Tommy Walker's song writing workshops. I admire Tommy's song writing so much. His songs are great worship songs to sing. I laughed as he shared about a song he wrote called "He Know's My Name". When Tommy wrote it he didn't think it was that good. It was only written to go along with a sermon for a particular week. Apparently, some ladies got a hold of it and sang it at a retreat and gave it new life. It has now become a very popular and meaningful song. The reason I laughed is because we sang that song the Sunday Ella was baptised. It has a special place in my heart. And to think, it almost didn't get sung a second time. It was clearly a song inspired by God.
If you want to check out the song we wrote in our workshop here's the link to Tommy's blog. I was in workshop #2 http://www.tommywalker.net/blog/ It turned out pretty good.
He Knows My Name
I have a maker, He formed my heart
Before even time began my life was in His hand
He knows my name, He knows my every thought,
He sees each tear that falls and hears me when I call
I have a Father, He calls me His own
He'll never leave me no matter where I go
He knows my name, He knows my every thought,
He sees each tear that falls and hears me when I call

Great blog, Sarah!! You got some great pictures at the fair of the kiddos. Will you please bless us with the music/piano next time we are at your house. If we start NOW, Ella and Paxon may be a professional duo by the time they hit kindergarten... ;) BUT, seriously, I want to hear you play sing live next time we're over!!
